McCallum HS
Lacrosse
Booster Club was founded in
1996 by parents with
the common interest of providing the game of lacrosse to the boys at
McCallum
High School. The
McCallum HS Lacrosse
Booster Club offers boys grades
9
through 12 a positive coaching and learning environment in the fastest
growing
sport in Texas. The
club provides
enrichment of the high school experience, great physical activity, and
enjoyment to all watching our boys play lacrosse. The Knights sword has been at the game sideline throughout the years. The Most Valuable Player (MVP) of each game is awarded the sword for safekeeping, returning it to the sideline at the next game. McCallum Lacrosse is a club sport and is not a part of the Austin Independent School District (AISD) physical education programs. The McCallum Lacrosse Booster Club is not financially supported by AISD funds. AISD provides the club use of various facilities for our club activities including: House Park, Veterans Field, classroom space, cafeteria and library meeting space, and use of the sports field house during games on Veterans Field. McCallum Lacrosse is part of the Texas High School Lacrosse League (THSLL)(http://centralboys.thsll.org/), Central District, Division II. The Knights generally play other THSLL teams in the Central District, but have also played THSL teams in the North and South Districts. In recent years, the Knights have participated in two fall tournaments, the UT Longhorn Shootout held in Austin in November, and the Clear Lake Tournament in Houston in early January.
The
McCallum Knights embody the best of teamwork, sportsmanship,
and honor both on
and off the field.

Coaching History Joe and Jeanie Luke, and Head Coach Scott Aubin were key organizers during the earlier years of the booster club. The Knights enjoyed an eight year long relationship with Head Coach Scott Aubin. Coach Aubin led the Knights to number one standing in the Division I and within one game of reaching the state championship games in 2006. In 2007 Head Coach Ben Hewitt led the Knights to the Knights best regular season record in the Central District and was also runner-up in the Central District Tournament. Coach Greaven Graham led the Knights game seasons 2008 and 2009. Coaches Aaron and Daniel Steinman with Assistant Coach Nathan Goldsmith comprised the Knights coaching staff for the 2010 game season. Coach Harrison Gay took over the coaching duties beginning with the 2011 season. Club Organization The club consists of player parents, the coaching staff, and the players. The club's focus is providing a healthy playing environment and rewarding experience for the players. The club parent members have a focus to the organization and management of the club activities to support the coaching staff and game play. Each year, the club elects and appoints parent leaders to fill board positions. |

All club activities are organized and managed by the club members, lead by the board members. The success of the club activities is directly related to the effort and participation of the club members. The club always looks to the internal capabilities of the club members before seeking services and support from outside the club. Over the years the club has enjoyed the talents of many parents to support the needs for most of the club activities. Finances The club activities and needs are paid by players' dues, sale of Knights memorabilia, corporate contributions, and sometimes anonymous donations to the club. The following are typically annual expenditures paid from the club treasury: - Game Jerseys - retained year-to-year by the club, replaced as needed - Player Practice Jerseys - given to each player each year - Player Game Shorts - given to each player each year - Coaches Fees – head and assistant coaches - Referees Fees - paid at each home game - Field Attendant Fees - required at House Park and Noack Sports Complex - Trainer (medical) - required at each home game - Field Equipment – field paint and equipment, goals and nets, balls, first-aid supplies - Tournament Fees – typically two tournaments two each season - US Lacrosse annual fee – paid by club dues for each player - Club Liability Insurance Club members are not paid for their participation.
